Died on September 26, 1848, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Craghead. Mr. Robert Dunlap, died at the age of 85 years. Mr. Dunlap was born in Ireland on February 26, 1763. Robert moved to Callaway County, MO, in 1818 where he resided until his death. Robert's wife, Elizabeth died in 1834.
Robert married Elizabeth Wile Dunlap of North Carolina and their children were John, David M., Robert, Thomas, Eliza and Elizabeth S.
In 1825, Robert and his brother, David Dunlap "Peg Leg", settled where Fulton now stands and Robert gave the name to the town, which for a number of years was called "BOB FULTON", on his account.
