Mr. Robert Marvin "Boots" Durham, 85, owner of Durham's One Stop, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Tri Lakes Hospital in Batesville, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service, Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Lafayette County, Mr. Durham served in the United States Army during World War II and worked for the State of Mississippi as Motor Vehicle Comptroller . He was a member of the VFW and First Faith Baptist Church at Cole's Point. Mr. Durham also served as Chief of the Cole's Point Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Maxey Durham.

Survivors include one son, Mike Durham of Holly Springs; three step-sons, Tony Hallmark of Columbus, MS, Johnny Hallmark of Horn Lake, MS and William Larry Thweatt of Walls, MS; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In honor of Mr. Durham's service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
