Frank Koster, Ponca City resident, passed from this life Monday, December 25, 2006 at his home. He was 89.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John J. Michalicka, Pastor, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Frank was born on December 28, 1916 to Anthony Mathias (Tony) Koster and Ellen Elizabeth (Nell) Keane in Dunkerton, Iowa. Frank graduated from high school in Dunkerton and worked on the family farm for approximately 4 years after graduation before attending Gates Business College. Frank then went to work for Rath Packing Company in Des Moines, Iowa, later being transferred to Houston, TX. After his transfer Frank was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Army Air Corp. During his service years, he met and married Helen Anderson at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. They married on January 28, 1946. After the service, Frank took a job with Conoco Inc. in Ponca City as an accountant, later worked as a clerk in the crude oil trading group before joining the central computer department in 1961. Except for one year in Houston, Frank's 34 years with Conoco were spent in Ponca City. He retired in 1982 and remained living in Ponca City until his death.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Helen on October 10, 1971. Frank remained grateful and thankful for all the support he and his family received during Helen's illness and after her death.

Frank was very active at St. Mary's Catholic Church and School in Ponca City serving as a lector, communion minister, coach, high school religious education teacher, a facilitator of adult education, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank enjoyed golf; working in his yard, especially his flower garden, but mostly, visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include his children: Mike Koster and wife Becky, Kathleen Pezzetti, Ann Connelly and husband Mike, John Koster and wife Cindy, Mary Andrews and husband Randy, Joe Koster and wife Courtney, Dan Koster and wife Bambi, Tim Koster and wife Stephanie; grandchildren: Stephen Koster and wife Ana, David Koster, Sarah Sivitz and husband Brian, Anthony Koster and wife Katie, Jane Choe and husband Ronnie, Anna Beron and husband Ed, Jim Pezzetti and wife Barbara, Mary Pezzetti, Karen Pezzetti, John Pezzetti, Jim Connelly, Jennifer Cabrera and husband Enmanuel, Brian Connelly, Andrea Koster, Hannah Koster, Serena Luke and husband Dennis, Eric Andrews and wife Mary, Kasey Koster, Kari Koster, Jessica Koster, Hannah McDaniel, John Koster, Kathryn Koster, Matthew Koster, Danielle Koster, Natalie Koster, Blair Koster; great-grandchildren: Alex Koster, Joey Pezzetti, Sophia Pezzetti, Antonio Cabrera, Colin Luke, Haley Luke, Truman Luke, Alex Andrews, Zack Andrews; a brother: Joe Koster and wife Mary; sister: Mary Cook and husband Jerry. Casket bearers will be his grandchildren.
