The Oklahoma, Monday, May 2, 1994:
Marion Dargan Mayberry, died April 29, 1994 at Baptist Medical Center. Dargan was born Nov 11, 1927 to Elizabeth Thompson McAdams Mayberry and Marion Roger Mayberry in Harper, KS.

The family moved to Stafford KS when Dargan was 5 years old. He graduated from Stafford High School in May 1945. He attended Wichita State University prior to enlisting in the US Air Force. After his discharge, he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, WI. Upon graduating with honors in 1951, he began his 36 years of service with General Electric Co in Oklahoma City, first with the X-ray Division and later in General Electric Medical Systems.

He married Marjorie C. Palmer in Milwaukee, WI, Sep 29, 1951. Survivors include his wife, Marge; four children, Marvin Roger Mayberry, Katherine Elizabeth Mayberry, and Constance Lynn Everett, all of OKC; Robert Eric Mayberry and his wife, Lori Phillips Mayberry and their children, Shannon Joy, Eric Blake, and Robyn Diane of Edmond, OK; his sister, Phyllis Christie and her husband Bill Christie, of Stafford, KS. His parents and brother, David Glenn Mayberry; and nephew, Phillip Dean Christie preceded him in death. Other survivors include his 2 nephews, David and John Mayberry of Milwaukee, and their children; and aunt, Evelyn Drumwright and her husband, Ernest Drumright of Harper, KS: and numerous cousins.

Dargan was a member of First Presbyterian Church of OKC since 1961. Dargan faithfully served as Deacon, Elder and Trustee; member, officer and soloist with the Sanctuary Singers; driver for Mobil Meals and in numerous other volunteer capacities. He was a member of the Master Chorale and Metropolitan Chorus, and the American Legion.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 1994, 10 am at First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Dargan Mayberry Music Memorial Fund, OKC, and Stafford District Hospital Endowment Fund, c/o Hazel Thomas, Stafford, KS 67578.
