GRAVES, James William "Jim" age 64 of Fairfield, OH passed away at his home on June 28, 2012 after a long battle with lung cancer. James was born in Knoxville, TN to James E. and Madge (nee Cupp) Graves on April 11, 1948. He grew up in the Dayton, OH area and spent time with family in Speedwell, TN. Jim is the beloved husband of Kristin (nee Muilenburg); loving son of Madge Daniels; stepson of Ann Graves; devoted father to Lori Britch, Katherine (Sean) Ferguson, Jamie Smith, Helen Calderone and Steven Graves; stepfather to Bonnie (Lowell) VanKirk, Lynn Martinez, Amanda Lasky, Cecil Dalton, and Chad (Shannon) Lasky; loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren, 1 great grandson; and 4 step grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Kathy Levers and Mary Sue Graves; special Vietnam War friends, James (Marla) Goss and James (Judy) Petho. Jim joined the USMC in 1965 and spent 4 years of active service and 2 years in the reserves. During this time he served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was very proud of his service to his country as a Marine. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of great integrity, loyal, patriotic, strong work ethics, strength in family, always helping others and he could fix anything. Jim worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. He owned and operated Eagle Auto Repair for several years in Springfield, OH. He retired in April 2011 after working several years for Jim Seibert Automotive in Fairfield, OH. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #1069; member of the Am vets #71 in Fairfield, OH; and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #397 in Springfield, OH, where he served as Past President. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Graves; Father James E. Graves; grandson Robert Scott Graves, and step granddaughter Sandra VanKirk. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597 or Am Vets #71, Soldier Relief fund 4829, Industry Drive, Fairfield, OH 45014.
