Mrs. Ann Giles, a respected and highly esteemed lady of this place, died Monday morning, Oct. 31st at 7 o’clock. She had been sick but a few days of typhoid when death came peacefully and she fell asleep, surrounded by her immediate family and friends. She had been a resident of Mitchell the greater part of her life and was preceded to the tomb many years by her husband. Her age was about 56 years.
The funeral of Mrs. Ann Giles took place from her late residence, corner of 6th and Baker sts, Tuesday, Nov. 1st at 1 p.m. Rev. I.N. Kimbrough of the Baptist church conducted the obsequies in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The pastor pointed out the deceased lady’s many virtues and prayed that they might be an inspiration for her posterity to live righteously before god.
The interment took place at the Burton cemetery, she being a sister to Alfred, Allen C. and Wiley Burton, all of this city.
