Ira was the oldest child of Wells & Laura. He married Hattie May Tate and together had seven children : Goldie, Leroy, Raymond, Irene, Sylvia, twins Wilma & Wells. He was a bricklayer for the FRISCO railroad. He died an untimely death from pneumonia at age 56.
