At Age 82
LEHI - Sarah Rebecca Tew Allred, 82, 485 W. 900 N., Lehi, died Sunday of natural causes at the home of her son in Lehi.
Born Jan. 7, 1888 in Mapleton, she was a daughter of William Thomas and Clara Elizabeth Snow Tew. She married Rudger Van Buell Allred March 25,1914 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1936.
A member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Allred served an LDS mission to the Northwestern States for six months in 1955. She was active in the Primary, Relief Society and MIA organizations of the church, having held leadership as well as teaching positions. She was a school teacher in Heber and Mapleton, and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had lived in Lehi for 53 years.
Survivors include three sons, Rulon Buell Allred, James Darrell Allred, both of Lehi; Reid Tew Allred, Malta, Ida.; two daughters, Mrs. Thales C. (Clara) Smith, Porterville, Calif.; Mrs. Dean T. ( Marie) Fisher, Ashland, Ore.; two brothers, Burton Edwin Tew, Huntington; Bryan Tew, Mapleton; and a sister, Mrs. Alton E. (Melba) Hayes, Wilmington, Del.; 32 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary chapel with Bishop Boyd Stewart of the Lehi LDS Seventh Ward offic-iating. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
