Linford C. Taylor, our beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away July 7, 1995 after a long and courageous battle with a stroke, cancer, heart attack, and again with cancer. He was 86 years old.

He was born March 17, 1909 to Heber C. and Chloe Williams Taylor in Emery, Utah. He married Deon Shaw June 27, 1932 in Richfield, Utah, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He served in leadership positions in the LDS Church. He was a High Priest. He also served in leadership positions in his community, six years on the Aurora Town Board and eight years on the Salina Hospital Board. His main occupation was a home building contractor. His ability in working with wood in his carpentry, enabled him to build many beautiful pieces of furniture and other wood creations. Before he retired at age 67, he was manager of Perfect Pleat Manufacturing Co. in Aurora for six years.

This great man is best known for his love of family. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and all kinds of sports. His greatest love was his wife Deon and his greatest joy was his two boys, Gene and Jerald, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They called him "Fishing Papa".

He has left his family the greatest example in life, in honesty, integrity and hard work. We love him and thank him for it. What a great heritage this great man has left this family. Thanks Dad for the example you set and for the love you so unconditionally always gave. The memories you have given us we will treasure in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 63 years, his two sons and their wives, Gene and Helen Taylor, Midvale, Utah; Jerald and Gwen Taylor, West Jordan, Utah; six beautiful grandchildren and their mates and 10 of the most beautiful great-grandchildren in the world, two sisters, Joy Taylor, Alpine, Utah; and Ora Jensen, Aurora, Utah. He was preceded in death by brothers, Oral, Tom, Sharrel, and Glen, sister, Vonda Clark, and grandson, Kenny Taylor.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 11, 1995, 12 noon at the Aurora Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday 7-9 p.m. at Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main, Salina, or Tuesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Aurora Cemetery.
