William Robert Cupp, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1986, at his home in Paola. He was known as Willie. The son of James Warner and Mary Ann (Noles) Cupp, he was born at Paragould, Ark., June 2, 1907. He was married to Nancy M. Rodgers July 19, 1941, in Stanford, Ark. They had lived in this area for 16 years. Mr. Cupp was a retired gardener. He was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church. The survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy M. Cupp of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Linda K. Waln of Paola and Mrs. Brenda F. Cantrell of Olathe; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandsons; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Cupp, and a sister, Mrs. Lilly Lethridge, both of California and a daughter-in-law, Joan Cupp. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Cupp. The visitation will be from 7 t0 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home in Paola. The services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Charles Pritchard will be the officiating minister. "The Rose" will be sung by granddaughters, "Precious Moments" by his daughters, and "My Brand New Home" by his daughters and son-in-law. The burial will be in the Paola Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Hansen, Mike Waln, Sean Orouke, David Manecke, Timothy Thompson and David Jones.
