Betty (Bea) R. Caperton passed away on Tuesday, July 3rd . Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she grew up in Front Royal, VA and came to Kingsport in 1966. Betty was a graduate of Duke University and worked for Kingsport City School System for 25 years as a school nurse. Betty was a communicant of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and an active member of the Red Cross.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris "Richie" Richardson and brother, Frank Richardson.

Betty is survived by her sons, Allen T. Caperton, III of Greeneville, TN, Bruce M. Caperton of Jacksonville, FL, and David J. Caperton of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Nikki Fuller and husband, Jeff, Shennah Caperton, Summer Clements and husband, Kyle, Danielle Caperton, Matthew Caperton and Holden Caperton; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Fuller, Austin Fuller and Layton Clements.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 6th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with The Rev. Edward James Mills, III officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, July 9th at 10:00 am at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Strasburg, VA.
