SHINNSTON -- Gladys Anderson, 83, of Four States, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at the Fairmont General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Clay County, on July 6, 1919, the daughter of the late John E. Davis and Cora Rapp Davis.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Anderson, March 11, 1998.
Surviving are 3 sons, Edward Abner Anderson and wife Linda, Chesapeake, Va., William Anderson and wife Nancy, North Canton, Ohio, and John D. Anderson and wife Lois, Fairmont; one daughter, Barbara Stalnaker and husband Skip, Springfield, Missouri; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Lillian Anderson, Fairmont.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Anderson, Jr., one brother, Delford Davis and five sisters.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Senior Citizens of Fairmont and American Legion and Moose of Fairmont.
Family and friends may be received at Dorsey Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday where services will be held Friday, September 27, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Winfield Mayle officiating. Interment will be held at the Enterprise I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Enterprise.
