He married Rebecca Elizabeth Klunk November 6, 1867, and fathered Mary Magdalena "Mame" (b. 12/31/68 - married Joseph Gruninger and William Jacob Hemler), Caroline Elizabeth (b. 1870), Alverta Catherine (b. 04/27/72 - married Weldon Jacob Hemler), Joseph Henry (b. 02/21/74), William Louis (b. 02/22/76), Sarah Anna (b. @1878), Anna Mae (b. 10/24/81 - married Felix Vincent Topper), Augustus Ignatius (b. 10/15/83), and Frances Debra (b. @1886).
