WAKEMAN BRYARLY, SR. was born circa 1783 in Harford County, Maryland to Robert Bryarly and Sarah Moores-Bryarly.

Wakeman married Priscilla Elizabeth Lee-Bryarly on 30 January 1816 in Harford County, Maryland, and they had TWO children:

Elizabeth Dallam Bryarly-Munnikhuysen (1816-1879) and
Wakeman Bryarly, Jr. (1820-1869).

Wakeman was a prominnent physician who earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania in 1805, and subsequently practiced at Bel Air & Ensor, Maryland. He died in 1821, when Wakeman Bryarly Jr. was just an infant. Wakeman was buried at Christ Episcopal Cemetery in Harford County, Maryland.
