Sharon K. Poggemiller, a.k.a. "Rock N Roll Sharon", 66, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Emergency Room of Memorial Medical Center.

She was born September 12, 1945 the daughter of Roy F. and Betty Jean Powers Throop Sr. She married William Poggemiller and they later divorced. Her parents and her sister, Ruth Rossiter preceded her in death.

Sharon retired from St. John's Hospital where she worked in food service for many years. She was a member of the Eagles and the First Church of the Nazarene. Sharon loved Karaoke and was well known throughout central Illinois for her talents. She was a loving mother and friend.

She is survived by her son, Steve (wife Brenda) Poggemiller of New Berlin, IL., 3 daughters; Michelle Williams, Jody (husband Charlie) Cox, Darci (husband Jesse) Gallaher all of Springfield, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters; Patricia (Donald) Sutherd, Earl L. (Pearl) Throop Sr., Roy F. (Jackie) Throop Jr., John E. (Teresa) Throop Sr., Robert A. Throop, Brenda Throop, all of Springfield, Teri (Mike) Trainer of Pekin, and Jody K (Ed) Walsh of Cantrall. There are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will follow in Farmington Cemetery at Farmingdale.
