Robert L. Owen Horner was born on June 13, 1924 in Glenpool, Oklahoma to Stephen Spencer Horner and Dovie Evelyn (Barber) Horner. He passed from this life on July 4, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 21 days after his 88th birthday.

Robert graduated from Glenpool High School in 1942. He was proud to have served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was never afraid of hard work and some of his many occupations included working for Pure Oil Co. as a roustabout, running a gas plant in Texas, welding pipelines on Route 66 and as far east as Ohio, running a bread sales route for 16 years and finally retiring after many years as the assistant superintendent for the Tulsa County Highway Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters; Lola, Bertha, Lena & Edna and 1 brother; Dale.

He is survived by one son and wife, one daughter, one sister, two grandchildren and spouses, seven great-grandchildren and several other relatives and many very good friends including his longtime dear friend; Shirley.
