Lucile LouElla Hofferber, 81, lifelong Hooker resident, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999 at the Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, KS.

The daughter of John and Minnie (Reiswig) Fast, she was born April 22, 1918 in Hooker.

Lucile and Carl Wesley Hofferber were married March 19, 1936 in Hooker. He preceded her in death April 28, 1994.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was past member of the St. John's Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Carl; and five brothers, Otto, Marvin, Johnny, Norbert and Paul Fast.

Survivors include one son, James A. Hofferber and his wife, Mikki of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Clara Purdy and her husband, Curtis of Guymon; six grandsons including James, John, Carl and Jorge, Chris Purdy and his wife, Dixie of Guymon and Clark Purdy and his wife, Erin of Guymon; eight great grandchildren; and five sisters in law, Ruby Fast of Hooker, Esther Hofferber of Hooker, Martha Fast of Brady, TX, Clara Pounds of Enid and Milly Ford of Ft. Collins, CO.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooker with the Rev. Mark Wescoatt officiating.
