Levi F. Irwin dead, was veteran printer;
Levi F. IrwIn, the veteran printer and carpenter died yesterday morning at the home of hIs dtr. Mrs. Joseph Mertz, 801 Brandon Ave. Death followed a several month Illness from cancer of the stomach. He was age 79 years. The deceased was one of the best known men in Williamsport where he has resided for almost a half century. He was born in Clearfield where he learned the trade of a printer. After moving to this clty, he worked on many of the newspapers for a generation or more ago until his eyesight started to fail. One of his eyes was affected with a cancer and It was later removed. After the loss of his eye, Mr. Irwin followed the vocation of a carpenter for a number of years and then turned his attention to gardening. He was an expert at trimming trees and trimming a lawn. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. George Seitzer, of this city; Mrs. William Sehreiber (spelling) of Clearfield; Mrs. Lewis Crouse or this city; Mrs. McClellan (spelling) Foster of this City; Mrs. McClellan Foster of L____ ; Mrs. Joseph Mertz of this city; and Charles Irwin of Philadelphia.
