Ena Marie Williams, 99, was born April 28, 1906 in Jefferson County, Alabama. She was a member of the Worship Center Church of God. A daughter of the late Ed and Tennie Werhan. According to the 1910 Census the family was living in Brent, Escambia, Florida. Ena was four years of age. The family moved back to Birmingham until Ena was a young lady and she married Dan Bethany. They had one son, Dan Earl. After the death of her husband, Dan Hudson Bethany,Ena and son along with her mother and family moved back to Pensacola. There she met Terry Amos Williams and they were married August 11, 1936.

Ena begin preaching in her early 20's. After her marriage to Amos they would travel together to different churches and run revivals. With her accordion and Brother Amos's guitar they would play and sing and then she would preach. If there was no church they would build a brush arbor to hold revivals. She organized at least a dozen churches in north Alabama and about four in the Pensacola area. She preached all over Alabama and Florida and was pastor of several churches. They had a little travel trailer that was pulled behind their car . If she got an offering that was good, if not, God provided. Brother Amos loved to fish and he always kept them in fresh mullet. Ena believed that God would take care of her physically and financially. She never took any kind of medicine, because she knew God would take care of her.

When she was preaching she always wore a white dress with a big hankie in the pocket. She called this her preaching uniform. Ena preached over 75 years before she had to pass the torch down to a younger generation. Only God has a record of how many she won to the Lord.

Survived by her granddaughter, Lynn Manthei; nephew & niece, John and Wanda Stewart, three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many more nieces and nephews.

After the death of husband, Amos her health began to decline. She spent the remainder of her years in a nursing home across from the West Florida Hospital. She just wasn't able to take care of herself. She couldn't remember much but one thing she could remember was that God was her Savior. I would visit with her and take a small keyboard and sing to her. One song always stood out, I would sing "I have the Joy, Joy, joy down in my heart" and then say where. She would sound out, Down in my heart. We knew that deep in her heart she still knew who her Savior was.
