Bobbie Jean Hofmister, 81, of Summit, MS went to be with the lord on November 14, 2013 at her residence.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and will continue Sunday from 2:00 until funeral service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Dr. David Millican will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hofmister was born January 13, 1932 in Amite County, MS. She was the daughter of William Johnnie Travis and Inez Johnnie Stewart Travis.
Mrs. Hofmister was a member of First Baptist Church of McComb and The Eastern Star. She worked for Kellwood Manufacturing for 22 years and for Hancock Fabric in McComb. She loved all types of crafts from painting, quilting and making ceramics.
Mrs. Hofmister was preceded by her parents; her first husband, Hilton Dewitt Bates, her second husband, Raymond Clifton "Tip" Hofmister; one son, Barnette Dwain "Dub" Bates; one sister, Irma Lee Travis Terrell; two brothers, James Travis and Raymond "Ray" Travis; one stepson, Thomas Hilton Bates and two granddaughters, .
Survivors include her son, Aubrey Charles Travis and wife, Martha of Magnolia; her stepson, Walter Dewitt Bates of Huntsville, TX and her son, Ray Hofmister and wife, Sherrie of Clinton, MS; two daughters, Hilda Inez Bates Woods and husband, William of Summit and Wilma Lee Bates Howell of McComb; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Howell, Ray Woods, Joe Jackson, Andy Woods, Richie Woods and Trey Travis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Hofmister, Robert Dwain Bates, Steve Travis, Charles Travis and Kathryn Denise Howell
