REEVES, Andrew Raymond Jr. born May 20, 1924, died June 29, 2012. Andy died surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Bette Evelyn Wilsford Reeves; four children, Sandra Reeves Roth (and her husband, Douglas F. Roth, DDS); Andrew Raymond Reeves III (and his wife, Paula MacMorran Reeves, PhD); Michael Glen Reeves (and his wife, Frances Pittman Reeves) and MaryBeth Reeves Head (and her husband, Donald Jackson Head Jr). He was the grandfather of Andrew Raymond Reeves IV (and his wife, Honor Matthews Reeves); Micah Lee Reeves, Marshall Bernard Reeves; Melissa Marye Reeves (and her partner, Eric Plantier); Adam Franklin Reeves (and his wife, Tesa Harris Reeves, DDS); Casey Elizabeth Head Balkcom (and her husband, Stephen Balkcom); Samantha Ann Head; Melissa Head McGinnis (and her husband, Chad McGinnis) and Donald Jackson Head III; and the great-grandfather of Sara Ella Reeves, Cal Reeves; Ari Miles Plantier; Mae Jewel McGinnis and Eliza McGinnis. Andy served in the United States Air Force as a pilot for 30 years, enlisting in 1942 and retiring in 1974 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after a distinguished career, serving in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Andy loved flying and piloted 36 different aircraft while acquiring over 13,000 hours of flight time. He was awarded the Ordre National de la Legion D'Honneur by the French government for his service to France in World War II. He was very proud of his service to his country. He was a life member of The Retired Officers Association, The Order of Daedalians, Disabled American Veterans and the 457th Bomb Group Association. According to Andy... "That's enough." Memorial Service was Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 2 pm, at the Spring Hill Chapel of Turner Funeral Homes. Final placement and military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society .
