Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon 2:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church for Leo O. Beucer, lifelong resident of Postville and prominent banker in this area, who died Thursday, February 5, following a brief illness.

The Rev. Walter T. Martin was in charge of the rites. Ray R. Douglass, past grand master of Iowa Mason, conducted Masonic rites. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.

Leo O. Beucher, son of Peter J. Beucher and Lena Olson Beucher, was born in Postville, Iowa on October 31, 1891 and passed away at the Postville Community Hospital on Thursday, February 5, 1959, after a brief illness.

Leo graduated from Postville High School in 1909. In 1907, prior to his graduation from high school, he started his life's work in the Citizens State Bank on a part-time basis and continued through a span of 52 years in all capacities to president, to which office he was elected in 1955. In addition to his banking interests, Mr. Beucher has served the community in many other capacities.
