Last Wednesday [8 July 1903] forenoon, Mrs. Sallie Walker, as estimable lady of this county, peacefully closed her eyes in death. She was the widow of Lysander Walker and the mother of Hugh, William, Josie, Sophia and Ellen Walker, and a sister of Mrs. Oscar Pile, this place, Mrs. Kizzie Edwards, Teas, who was present when the end came, and Messrs. Jo and George Flowers, this county. Mrs. Walker was eighty-one years of age and had been a faithful member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church since early girlhood. She was a lady known throughout the county for her many Christian virtues, a kind and sympathetic neighbor, and will be greatly missed from the community where she so long resided. ...
