Francis V. "Joe" Abel, 82, of 924 N. Lime St., died Saturday at home after a long illness.
Abel was a janitor at 1 Marion Court and the Atlee Building. Earlier, he was a parking lot attendant for Watt & Shand Department Store.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Abel was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Mabel Peterman Abel.
