Gwen "Minnie" Darlene Bowen, 65, of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2006, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on May 30, 1940, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Gerald Wayne Bartol was Gwen's first husband and father of her children.

She is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Jeri Bloom (Steve), Wendy McKerney (Harry), Tim Bartol (Rosa); and stepchildren, Chris Bowen (Ceri) and Dawn Archambault (Rob); grandchildren, Tina, Missy, Brandon, Timmy, Tasha, Jaeson, Kimmy, Kelly, Kaitlyn, Jerry, Nick; and great-grandchild, Brayden; her long-time and best friend, Vicky Kleinman, and family Ron, Erika, Barbara and Mathew; and last, but not least, her constant companion, her dog, Sassy.

Services will be held at 11am, on June 3, 2006, at Purdy and Walters Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, in Lynnwood.

She will always be remembered for her joy of life, her compassion, and her sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched. The family asked that donations be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or PAWS of Lynnwood. "You will always be in our hearts." Published in The Herald (Everett) from May 23 to June 2, 2006
