Carl Ray Ballinger age 73, of Sparta passed away Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center, He was born November 10, 1938 in Smith County,TN to the late Charlie and Eva Blair Ballinger. Mr. Carl graduated Tennessee Tech with a Masters Degree in Music. He was retired from the White County Schools after 30 years of being the Band and Choir Director for both the White County High School and the White County Middle School. He also served as the First United Methodist Church Choir Director for 23 years.
