DEEP RUN - Joseph Caswell Heath of Deep Run, NC, 86, passed away on June 29, 2012. Born in Onslow County, he was the son of the late Albert and Geneva Humphrey Heath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Tyndall Heath, his four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Heath was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired Tobacconist with Export Leaf Tobacco Co. with 34 years of service, and he served in the Merchant Marines in WWII and in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Deep Run Original Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Andy Heath and wife Lynn of Deep Run; his grandchildren, Ashley and Teresa Heath of Deep Run; several nieces and nephews including niece Theresa Matus and nephews Dan Dail and Mark Tyndall. The family would like to give thanks to his special caregivers, Verna Whitfield and Jennifer Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Fishman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Flowers are welcome or memorials maybe made to the Deep Run Original Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Bill Hawkins, 3556 Mark N. Smith Road, Deep Run, NC 28525.
