Edwin E. Biesecker, 77, of Falls City died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Community Medical Center in Falls City.
He was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Bertrand where he was also raised. He graduated from Nebraska School of Agriculture University of Nebraska at Curtis in 1942. He married Betty Loether Nov. 16, 1942, in Elwood. He established his home in California when first married and entered the U.S. Army Air Corp. March 29, 1944. He was discharged Jan. 7, 1946, in Santa Ana, Calif. After the service he returned to Bertrand and moved to Grand Island where he worked for O.P. Skaggs Grocery as meat manager. He moved to Fremont in 1962 and worked as meat manager for Randalls Grocery Store until he retired. His spouse died Jan. 11, 1972. He married Carolyn Wagner Lempka June 17, 1973, in Falls City. They moved to Falls City in 1997.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn; a son, Allen (and wife, Leanne) Biesecker of Fremont; a daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Ray) Bailey of Texas; a stepson, Steven (and wife, Maggie) Lempka of Fremont; two sisters, Elaine (Mrs. William) Trehal of McCook and Kathleen Hickman of Clewiston, Fla.; four grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a stepdaughter.
The funeral is 2:30 p.m. today at Dorr Funeral Home in Falls City. The Rev. Robert Stickler will officiate. Burial will be in Steele Cemetery in Falls City.
