1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Three children;
Diane Lee, Darlene Ruth & Denice Ann.
They divorced February 24, 1971 in Chicago,
Illinois

She actually passed away January 15, 2009.
According to Indiana law, they have to put
the date she was discovered as the date of
death. Coroner stated she passed away aprox
4PM Thursday, January 15, 2009.

Mildred LaVerne (Jones) Wellman, age 69,
of North Judson, IN, passed away Friday,
January 16, 2009 at her home. LaVerne was
born July 2, 1939 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to
George W. Jones Sr. and Edna Lee (Walker)
Jones, both deceased.

She married Carl Henry Wellman on January
26, 1979 in South Holland, Illinois, he
preceded her in death March 7, 1997. She
had worked for many years at Starke County
Memorial Hospital as well as the Starke
County Humane Society.

LaVerne is survived by her daughters:
Diane Sayger (Charles) of Crown Point, IN,
Darlene Buttrum (Brian) of Big Rock, TN
and Denice Huerta (Jesus Jr.) of Calumet
City, IL; sisters, Norma Cothren of Lawton,
OK, Wanda Lucas of Del City, OK and Barbara
Fried of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren: Jesus
Huerta III, Darryl Dunn, Crystal Huerta,
Chuckie Sayger, Lee Sayger, Amy Sayger and
Gregory Buttrum; one step-grandchild: Bradley Herr and one step-great grandchild: Brooke Herr and her first great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers, George Wiley Jr., David Eugene
and one sister Eugenia Lee.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 19,
2009 at 4:00 p.m. (CDT), with visitation two
hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral
Home in Knox, IN. Interment will be private.
