Mary Louise Ashcraft, 74, of Fairmont, died Thursday (March 13, 2008) at her residence.

She was born in Marion County on Sept. 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert M. and Ruth Shaver Yost.

Mrs. Ashcraft was retired as a sales clerk from the Mannington McCrory's Store with several years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Mannington and was a graduate of Mannington High School, class of 1953. She was a 40 year member of the Local Bridge Club of Mannington.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas "Keith" Ashcraft; two daughters, Benita Jernigan and her husband Joe, and Sandra Bajus and her husband John, all of Fairmont; three brothers survive, Bob Yost and his wife Shirley of Winchester, Va., Bill Yost of Mannington, and Jim Yost and his wife Joyce, of Morgantown; two sisters, Martha Bell and her husband Henry of Sistersville and Sara Ammons of Vienna; grandchildren include Brian Jernigan of Tahlequah, Okla., Sean Bajus of Morgantown, Matthew Jernigan and Megan Bajus, both of Fairmont; also surviving are a special uncle and aunt, Charles "Dave" Shaver and his wife June of Mannington, a sister-in-law Jean Ashcraft of Cherry Hill, N.J., and a brother-in-law, John and his wife Karen of Santa Anta, Calif.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

The family would like to thank Hospice Care and especially Jeff Wotring for their care and compassion during Mrs. Ashcraft's illness.

Friends may call at the Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Rd., Fairmont, today from noon until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Rockwood officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joe, Brian and Matthew Jernigan, and John, Sean and Martin Bajus.

The family requests memorial donations made to Hospice Care, 201 Merchant St., Suite 1, Fairmont, WV 26554.
