Richard Allen Lake, 71, of Pinehurst, passed Saturday July 3, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mr. Lake was born August 6, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Robert L. Lake and Juanita Handley Lake.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst with a Funeral Service starting at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Wake Memorial Park in Cary, NC.
A loving husband, father and friend, Richard was an avid golfer who was sociable and loved by everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Sheila Burns Lake of Pinehurst; a son, Allen Lake and wife, Robin of Raleigh; a daughter, Kelly Kirchman and husband, Jim of Cary; a brother, Robert L. Lake, Jr. of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Blaine and Connor Youngguist, Christopher and Steven Lake; two step-grandchildren, Jared and Justin Kirchman.
Memorial donations can be made in memory of Richard Lake to The ALS Association Jim “Catfish†Hunter Chapter at 120 Penmarc Drive. Suite 101 Raleigh, NC 27603.
