Vivian Valeta SNELL, 87, of Hannibal, Mo., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Vivian was born in Palmyra, Mo., on July 14, 1924, a daughter of John Robert and Rosie May THAYER VanNoy.
She was married on June 20, 1948, in Hannibal to Perry Urmel SNELL, and he died on Aug. 8, 2001.
Survivors include two sons; two daughters. Five grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valeta Mae SNELL; and two sisters, Velda Mae Finney Roth and Rosie Jewell Finney Icke.

Mrs. SNELL was raised in Monroe City, and was a graduate of Emerson High School, where she was class valedictorian. She worked as secretary of Marion County Civil Defense, and was active in The Marion County Democrat Club, and the Mark Twain Senior Citizen Center, where she and her husband assisted members and the disabled in filing circuit breaker tax forms for many years. She was also a member of Clover Road Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Jay Snell, Jesse Snell, Anita Snell, Maren Snell, Huston Snell and John Hoewing.

Memorials may be made to Clover Road Christian Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
