Dallas Scott Black, 76, of R.R. 1, Three Springs, died at 11:33 a.m. Monday, February 16, 1998, at Altoona Hospital.
Born Sept. 19,1921, in Three Springs, he was a son of the late Homer Scott and Ida Booher Black.
He was a Protestant.
An auto body repairman, he was owner-operator of Black's Body Shop from 1963 to 1983.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a member of Madden-Wennick American Legion Post 518 and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Groeddel Black, whom he married Sept 4, 1944, in Abilene, Texas; two daughters, Carol L. Black of Three Springs and Shirley E. Strain of Annandale, Va.; two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elvada Stake of Three Springs.
A brother preceded him in death.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Jim MacQuarrie will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, near Three Springs.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
