Katherine Grace Palmer, 18, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passe away April 27, 2005. She was born Aug. 5,1986, in Fort Walton Beach to Dennis P. and Kathy Freeman Johnson.
Katie was a life-long resident of Ponce de Leon. She was Baptist by faith and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon where she was active in the choir and youth group. She graduated from Ponce de Leon High School with high honors in 2004. She was active in many clubs at the school, especially FFA and Beta Club. She was attending Okaloosa-Walton Community College in DeFuniak Springs.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, W.R. Freeman, and paternal grandfather, Paul Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmothers, Katherine Freeman of Crossville and Juanita Johnson of DeFuniak Springs; aunts and uncles, Willene Freeman of Sparta, TN, Karen Freeman and W.R. Freeman Jr., both of Crossville, W.E. Freeman Sr. of Paincourtville, LA, K.R. Freeman of O'Fallon, MO, and Mike Consiglio and wife, Debby, of Ocala, FL.
Memorial services were held April 30 at the First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon. The Revs. Greg Alford and Jesse Spears officiated, and Clary-Glenn Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs directing the memorial.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon, 2876 Highway 81 South, Ponce de Leon, FL 32455.
