Victor Beck was born in Kolding Denmark. At 14 years of age he came to America. He quit school at 8th grade but went on to study law and finish high school. He died in 1931 of a ruptured appendix one week before he was to take the Bar Exams. He worked as a machinist at the United Shoe Factory as an apprentice pattern maker in Beverly, Mass. and married Frances Irene Norton. They had one son, Robert George "Bob" Beck.
