Ben was born in White Rock, Mo. he was the son of George and Lillie Hoffner Martin. He was a retired Wabash railroad section foreman. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Clifton Hill. He was survived by two brothers,Ira and Clyde.
His wife Grace Rader Martin died in June of 1966. They had two sons,Harley Martin and Norman H. Martin.
