Born June 29, at Mount Union, Mr. Lukens was the son of George W. and Annie (Smith) Lukens, and had lived in M0unt Union during his entire life. Mr. Lukens was aged 58 years, three months , and 23 days.
Mr. Lukens was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Blanche Piper Lukens, preceded him in death a number of years ago. On December 12, 1922, in a ceremony performed in Harrisburg by the Rev. Mr. Moses, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Harrisburg, he was united in marriage to Mabel Smith.
Survivors include one daughter born to the first marriage, Mrs. Spencer Garman of Tyrone, his widow and these sons and daughters: Harry Lee Lukens, Jr, US Navy; Marcia Gail Lukens, Ronald Dell Lukens, and Wilda Ann Lukens, all at home. These brothers and sisters also survive: Charles Lukens, Altoona; Mrs. G. M. McGregor, Oakmont; Gerald Lukens, Mount Union; and one half-sister, Mrs. G.E. Long, Mount Union.
The funeral service will be held at the late residence at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery, Mount Union. The Rev. Edgar Henry and the Rev. Harold G. Keen will officiate. Friends are being received at the Lukens residence.
