Thomas married Mary Bell Orander on February 11, 1906; daughter of ___ and ____ Orander. Moved to the "Little Patrick" area in Amelia County, VA, in 1919. Mary was born on March 20, 1890 in Patrick
County, VA. Mary died on May 19, 1928 and is buried in Little Flock Cemetery in Amelia, VA. They had eleven children; William Roy Pigg, Salley Lorene Pigg, Lillie Belle Pigg, Thomas Melvin Pigg, Jr., George Berlie Pigg, Susan Ila Pigg, Flora Elsie Pigg, James Lester Pigg, Annie Mae Pigg, Benjamin Tracy Pigg, and Walter Lacy Pigg.

Thomas then married Mary Alice Major on March 2, 1929; daughter of Thomas and Mary (Hall) Major. Mary was born on April 4, 1892 in Amelia County, VA Mary died on March 11, 1973 and is buried in Little Flock Cemetery in Amelia, VA. They had three children; Dorothy
Elizabeth Pigg, Benjamin S Pigg, and Edward T Pigg. Thomas died on July 5, 1953 and is buried in Little Flock Cemetery in Amelia, VA.
