A funeral for Ervin E. Kroll of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, with the Rev. Bernard Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.
Mr. Kroll died Jan. 24, 1999, in his home. He was 85.
He was born June 16, 1913, I Egley, N.D., the son of Edward and Anna Lehr Kroll. He was raised and educated in North Dakota.
He lived in North Dakota until 1937, when he moved to Oregon. He worked in the construction trades and for Murphy Logging Co. He served in the Army Air Forces in the South Pacific during World War II.
He and Diane Coffey were married Nov. 14, 1946, in Vancouver, Wash.
Mr. Kroll owned and operated a Richfield service station at Fifth and Baker streets in McMinnville for five years. He then worked in the McMinnville Elks Lodge.
He worked for Field Emission Corp. in McMinnville from 1960 to 1978, when he retired.
He belonged to Michelbook Country Club and was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 1283, McMinnville. He enjoyed golf and fishing with his family on the Siletz River.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene Carlson of Portland; and a son, Michael Kroll of Tacoma, Wash.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
