"Mr. Elijah Hatfield died at his home 1119 South Henderson, yesterday afternoon, aged 83 years. Born in Cable county, West Virginia 25 December 1810, youngest son of Mr & Mrs Isaac Hatfield. In 1862 came to Knox county. He was a farmer and also respected member of the M.E. church. Survivors--wife and twelve children--Mrs. Anna McClellan, Mrs. Adeline Smelser, AF Hatfield, VH Hatfield, Frank J. Hatfield, James Hatfield, Stephen Hatfield, all of this city.
