SPRINGVILLE - Julius Van Sickle, 76, retired farmer and auctioneer who lived near Springville since 1931, died Monday morning of a heart attack on his farm.
Mr. Van Sickle was born Dec., 1875, in Cedar county. For several years he was manager of the Shipping Association at Martelle. He recently received a 50-year membership certificate from the Masons. He was a member of Eastern Star and the Methodist church.
Survivors are his wife, Alice; a daughter, Mrs. David Welch of Evanston, Ill.; a brother, Dolph, of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Mayme Focht of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Springville Methodist church with burial in Oak Hill cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
