Gary L. Walker Sr. age 66 of Maryville, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home, Friday, June 29, 2012 at his home. Gary retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company with 42 years of service. He was a member of their 25-Year Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and antiquing. Preceded in death by: Father, William Walker; Mother, Ann Walker; Brother, James R. Walker; Father-in-law, Cecil Patty; Mother-in-law, Mary Bell Patty; Sister-in-law, Cecilia Ann Patty. Survivors include: Wife of 47 years, Mary Ruth Walker; Son, Gary Lynn Walker, Jr.; Daughter, Karen Walker; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Billy & Teri Walker of Sweetwater and Paul & Wanda Walker of Maryville; Sister & Brother-in-law, Pat & Bill Eggers of Maryville; Sister, Janice Norfleet of Maryville; Sister-in-law, Donna Walker of Maryville; many nieces and nephews; Honorary granddaughters, Laura & Emily Arp, Cassie Tipton, Whitney Simmonds, and Emalea Eggers. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery with Rex Everett and Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Family requests that everyone please dress cool and casual. After the interment, the family would like to invite everyone to Old Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church for food and fellowship.
