A native of Paden City, Ohio, he was born July 13, 1924 and has lived locally for the past 59 years. He joined the SeaBees as a young man, transferring to the Army during World War II. Following his military service, Kenneth was a truck driver for 37 years.
A man of many interests, Kenneth was an amateur boxer while in the Army, enjoyed bowling and roller-skating and grew beautiful roses. He was a very out-going person who never met a stranger. Most of all, he was a loving husband and father remembered by his daughter as "the best dad in the world".
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Sandy Johnson, of Seaside; his brother-in-law, Fred Long, of Clear Lake; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Silva of Red Bluff and Audrey Potts of Florida, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Johnson, in 2001.
A Celebration of His Life will take place at The Little Chapel by-the-Sea on Tuesday, February 3 at 11AM. Following cremation under the direction of The Paul Mortuary, inurnment will be held at El Carmelo Cemetery.
