Ishmell's name was Ishmell Daniel Anderson. He was a freed slave. His wife was Nancy. Their sons were Ansel and Peter. Ansel's daughter was Rosa Etta Anderson Bailey, a well-known mid-wife in Brantley and Charlton Counties. She was a licensed mid-wife under the direction of Dr. Campbell and Dr. E. A. Moody. Rosa was born in 1883 and married Henry E. Bailey when she was 20 years old.
