Henry Schwindt was born May 3, 1858 in Norka, county of Saretaw, Russia, and died March 23, 1910, at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 20 days. He was married on February 18, 1878 to Catherine Becker. In 1878 he came to U.S. and settled in Rush County near Bison, where he has lived ever since. In the year 1885 under the ministry of Rev. Geo. Burgdorff, a German Baptist missionary, he was converted and joined the German Baptist congregation, of which he was an active member at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife, 3 sons, a daughter and 4 grandchildren, all living near Bison, his brother, Nick, at Leoti, and brother Peter, at Ingersoll, Okla., and a sister at Harvard, Neb., to mourn his loss. One daughter preceded him in death seven years ago.

Rev. Klitzing, pastor of the church, officiated, with the assistance of Rev. Rose, of the M.E. Church; at the funeral, which was conducted from the German Baptist Church of Bison. Preaching from the text 38th chapter 1st verse of Isaiah.

The esteem is which Mr. Schwindt was held in the community was shown by a very large concourse of friends and the floral decorations. Interment was made in the German Baptist Cemetery.

The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their kind husband and father.
