Doyle Roundy Cardon passed peacefully from this life June 28, 2012, three days prior to his 97th birthday - and on the sixth anniversary of his wife, Lucille's, passing. Doyle was born July 1, 1915, in Benson, Utah, to Hyrum Michael and Esther Isabelle Roundy Cardon. He graduated from Utah State University and served in the France/Belgium Mission.

He married Lucille Dunn in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept. 19, 1939. In their later years Doyle and Lucille served two missions - one in Western Samoa and another in Mauritius.
Doyle worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in California, primarily in the Fresno area. He served in the Navy during World War II. Doyle was a revered Scout Master and was awarded the Silver Beaver. He was active and served faithfully in the LDS Church.

Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. He is survived by his sister Nada; brothers Kenneth (Alice) and Wayne (Sharlene); children Michael (Janet, deceased), Phillip (Nancy), Pamela (John) Avery, Jeffrey (Denice) and Candace (Rob) Sibley; 26 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Grandpa-great."

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the remarkable staff at Horizon Home Health and Hospice Specialists for the exceptional care and concern given to Doyle and the family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, in the Lindon Stake Center, 56 E. 600 North in Lindon. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 East in Pleasant Grove, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
