Helen M. Martin, 83, daughter of Louis and Anna Cole Vestal, was born Feb. 17, 1918, at Hutcheson, Kan. She died Jan. 16, 2002, at Texas County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was manager of a rest home and had lived at Houston for the last 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two sons, Elvin and Billy Altman of Houston; one daughter, Josephine Troncale of Rowland Heights, Calif.; three sisters, Donna Offerdahl of Lawton, Okla., Vicki Francis of Oceanside, Calif., and Lula Lee of Pittsfield, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Jan. 21 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Freeman and Jeff Moore officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
