Funeral Services Held For Mrs. J. N. Gunnell
Funeral services were held in the Providence Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. J. N. Gunnell, member of a prominent South Mississippi family and esteemed resident of the Topeka community for sixty four years. The high esteem in which she and her family are held was shown by the large number attending the service.
Mrs. Gunnell died at the family home at three o'clock Tuesday morning following an attack of pneumonia. She was eighty-eight but had not been confined to her bed until the last few days of her life.
Her pastor, the Rev. W. E. Ainsworth, pastor of the Methodist Church at Felder's Camp Ground in Pike County, had part in the services. Mrs. Gunnell was buried in the Providence Church Cemetery in the Gunnell family plot. The Hartman Company of Brookhaven had charge of funeral arrangements. Beautiful floral tributes expressed the sympathy of friends.
