Mr. Wade Hampton Weatherly, Jr., 88, of 1105 Oak Avenue, Hamlet, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg.

He was born in Hamlet, NC, February 11, 1924, son of Wade Hampton Weatherly, Sr. and Erma Lea Bruton Weatherly.

Mr. Weatherly was a member of Second Baptist Church, Hamlet, formerly a conductor with CSX Railroad, member of and former president & secretary and treasurer for United Transportation Union, member of Hamlet Lions Club, a Lay Renewal Team Member of Southern Baptist and Full Gospel Business Men's' Fellowship.

His life work was to be a witness and soul winner for Christ. He not only spoke it- but he lived it as well.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Weatherly; sister, Irma Lee Creighton; and a great-grandchild, Carson Lee Barrett.

Mr. Weatherly is survived by his wife of 67yrs, Winnie Maples Weatherly of the home; sons, Wade Hampton "Hamp" Weatherly, III and wife Jewell Hill of Pinehurst and David Allen Weatherly and wife Christie Garris of Lexington; grandchildren, Chrystal Lea Weatherly and David Wade Weatherly; great-grandchildren, Charles, Christian and Cameron Barrett; brothers, Sammy Weatherly of New Bern, Bobby Weatherly of Hamlet, and Larry Weatherly of Rockingham; and sisters, Mildred Jones of Dayton, Ohio and Alice Freeman of Hamlet.
