Donald M. Dahl of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Bettendorf, passed away on Jan. 7, 2010.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will be held in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local humane society in honor of his beloved dog, Cuddles.
Don was born May 18, 1933, in Adair, Iowa, the son of Furness and Inez Dahl. He married Roberta Ahlers on June 27, 1953, in Grand Mound, Iowa. Roberta Ahlers Carnithan survives in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
He worked for Alcoa until his retirement in 1982.
Don is survived by his children, Debra (Terry) Marx, Bloomington, Ill., Cindy (Marty) Martens, Orion, and Gary Dahl, Denver, Colo.; his twin brother, Duane, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his sister, Delores Summy, Apache Junction, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his close friend, Judi Vervaedt.
